The Hunger Games

Ah, the famous bestselling novel written by Suzanne Collins. Fearless Katniss, Handsome Gale and... Peeta the coward.

SPOILER ALERT!

3 books and 4 movies, well, part 1 and 2 of Mockingjay. I finished the first book in a day! It was amazing! I'm currently reading book 2, catching fire. In case you didn't know, 16 year old Katniss Everdeen(A poor girl froma the seam) is obliged just like every other child from 12 to 18 to participate in the reaping which in other terms, is the vote of the Hunger Games. THE most DEADLIEST game in the world. The Hunger Games is a deathmatch where one boy and one girl from each district fight to death in the arena. This Hunger Games was designed since the act of rebellion formed in all 12 district (also district 13 that is now disintegrated) to demostrate if the rebellion forms again against the Capitol(the city of Panem), they can kill on all the districts civillians on a larger scale. Katniss's sister, 12 year old Prim gets chosen to participate in the Hunger Games where Katniss volunteers for her sister to avoid her sister being killed. Peeta Mellark, boy with the bread, gets chosen as the male participant. Peeta gave Katniss bread ( as he was among the rich kids) a very long time ago and Katniss is a loyal being who is shocked that Peeta's named was picked. Katniss and Peeta enter the Justice Building to say their goodbyes to their loved ones. Her mother and Prim come to say their goodbye's, KAtniss promises to Prim that she will win and tells her mother to keep together, not to let go like she did when her father died. Peeta's father enter's the room at once after the peacekeeper's had snatched her sister and mother out of the luxurious room (which is noted in the book that it's the most luxurious place Katniss has ever been in). His father tells her that he wont let Prim starve as what would have happened if Katniss hadn't taken over as head of the family. Later, Gale comes in. Oooh, handsome Gale. Yes, he too says he wont let them starve. Then he is taken by the peacekeepers out of the room. Katniss and Peeta go to a train that will take them to the Capitol where they will have to meet their stylists but first, get their hairs taken off and prepared for Capitol beauty treatment. On board the train, they meet Haymitch, their very drunk mentor. In the Capitol, Katniss meets their prep team. She then proceeds to meet her stylist, Cinna who instantly becomes her friend. She prepares to climb into the chariot where they have to impress the Capitol and get sponsors. Katniss, the girl on fire. She was nicknamed that once she was literally wearing a costume adapted to resist fire.
